: RELEASE NOTES |

Whimtale is a no-code fantasy console and lightweight game engine
designed specifically for creating narrative-driven, exploratory
interactive story games.

? The Concept: Inspired by the popular game engine Bitsy, it allows
users to build small worlds where players can navigate
micro-landscapes, explore environments, and interact or converse
with characters ("talk with stuff").
? No Coding Required: Game logic, branch paths, and item
interactions are handled completely visually using a node-based
event scripting language.
? All-in-One Toolkit: It features a built-in pixel art studio for
drawing characters (actors) and items, a stage editor for creating
levels, and an audio tool for designing sound effects.
? Accessibility: It is browser-based (running online or offline)
and exports games instantly into a single portable .html file that
can be played on both desktop and mobile devices.

Your Vision, No Constraints
Break free from preset dimensions. The Ultra edition removes the
technical limits, transforming the tile-based engine of Whimtale
into a general-purpose tool for your unique ideas.

Set Any Tile Size
Not just 9x9 or 18x18. Choose 16x16, 12x12, 10x20?any dimension you
need for your perfect art style.

Any Stage Size
Build sprawling landscapes, vertical arcade challenges, or the
classic perfectly square rooms. The grid conforms to your design,
not the other way around.

If your project demands a unique canvas and you refuse to be
limited by default settings, Whimtale Ultra was made for you.

Forced Fullscreen for Immersive Gameplay
A new setting for Ultra games allows you to completely remove the
default on-screen controls besides the default game menu, so the
game can cover the whole screen.

Fully Loaded with Premium Features
Ultra includes every premium feature from Whimtale HD:

White-labelling ? remove the "Made with Whimtale" attribution
completely from your games. (Enable it in the Settings tab ?
Branding section)
Proofreader ? (English only!) new tab in the Actors editor that
checks your texts for grammar and spelling issues, finds missing
punctuation, and gives recommendations on weak wording ? unlimited
and offline!
8 color schemes for editor's UI ? create in style and reduce
eyestrain. Each scheme is available in dark and light variants.
Built-in HD tileset ? create an Ultra project with 18x18 tile size
to use a premade 18x18 tileset.

Maximum Fonts
The largest typography library available in Whimtale ? 18
hand-picked fonts for every occasion. Make the text-based narrative
as expressive and on-style as possible.
