The decadence is not confined to the family, as Jack makes quite an impression on an attractive maid with a taste for excitement and seduces a young, shy but eager cook. Jack quickly discovers that no one is quite what they seem, but then he too has a secret of his own…

Lady Marie studied him in the mirror for a moment, biting her lower lip, apparently deep in thought.
“Are your courting Jack?” She asked him. His eyes widened at the sudden sharp digression.
“Not presently my Lady.” Jack replied, Lily’s face flashing through his mind. His relationship with Lily, at least as far as he was concerned was purely a physical one, but he still felt a pang of guilt at denying it completely. Lady Marie got to her feet and turned to face him.
“I have a proposition.” She told him. “Breathe a word of this proposition to anyone else and I shall deny it and see to it that you are dismissed immediately without a reference.”
“I understand my Lady.” Jack told her. “I shall treat your proposition with complete discretion.”
“Good.” Lady Marie replied. “As I have mentioned, I have been a widow for four years. Before that, I enjoyed regular… lovemaking with my husband. I have greatly missed this since his passing. While I am not yet ready to remarry, living this celibate existence is driving me to distraction. I propose that you might fill that void.” Jack suppressed a smile at the double entendre, though Lady Marie’s lips curled a little at the corners, suggesting that perhaps it had not been unintentional. “Have I shocked you?”
“I am certainly surprised my Lady.” Jack admitted. Lady Marie smiled and her face was transformed completely. The dour widow had vanished, replaced by an alluring, sophisticated young woman at the peak of her powers.
“Does my proposal interest you?” She asked him.
“I would be glad to be of service my Lady.” Jack smiled. “When would you like me to come to you?”
“You appear to be here already.” Lady Marie purred. “Lock the door.” Jack, his pulse racing, moved to the door and turned the key in the lock. He turned back to Lady Marie and this time he was genuinely shocked. The cream dressing gown had been dropped to the floor and Jack’s eyes widened as he saw that Lady Marie had been wearing nothing else underneath. Her long black hair hung down to the tops of her full breasts, her dark nipples a stark contrast to her pale skin. Her left leg was slightly in front of her right, revealing just the dark curls of her pubic hair. Even naked, Jack marvelled, Lady Marie still somehow had poise and class.
“My Lady…” Jack’s mouth opened and closed, but he could find no words.
