: RELEASE NOTES |

Rome has its ambitions. Your family has to eat.

It is 175 BC. You have inherited an estate, a household to support,
and (hopefully) enough to begin. What comes next is up to you.

Mos Maiorum is a turn-based family and estate simulator set in
Ancient Rome. Across generations, you decide how to work the land,
earn a living and secure your family?s future while the world
around them changes.

A good harvest gives you choices. A failed one makes every choice
harder. Sell grain while prices are high, or keep it against a
hungry winter? Pay for a child?s training, buy another animal, or
hold the money for debts coming due? A son serving in the army
might return with earnings and a reputation, enslaved or dead.

There is room for ambition. Expand your holding, establish a
profitable craft, cultivate influential friends or pursue public
office. But prosperity brings commitments, and the people you
depend on grow old. Eventually, someone else must take charge of
everything you have built.

Build something worth inheriting.

Run a working estate, from sowing and harvest to livestock, storage
and repairs.

Develop trades and skills, find customers and send goods to distant
markets.

Raise children, arrange marriages and choose how to prepare the
next generation.

Navigate military service, public life, religion and relationships
with neighbouring families.

Live through the Republic?s upheavals from 175 to 49 BC, with wars
and changing laws reaching into household life.

Each turn covers a fortnight, with time paused while you inspect
the household and make plans. There?s no scored victory: you might
try to keep a modest family solvent, build a large estate or
establish a name that lasts for generations.

Every ambition competes for your family?s time and resources. A son
serving abroad leaves work unfinished at home. A divided
inheritance can force the next generation to begin again.

How far will your family rise?and what will it take to endure?
