| | In the cosmic depths of the Gradius galaxy, the year is 6842. | |
| | A terrifying shadow falls across the stars as a massive, | |
| | bio-mechanical super-organism known as Zelos advances | |
| | through the cosmos, consuming entire worlds to fuel its | |

| | With civilization on the brink of extinction, the galaxy pins | |
| | its final hopes on two legendary pilots. Taking the controls | |
| | of the iconic Vic Viper and its powerful co-op counterpart, | |
| | Lord British, these ace pilots launch into the void on a | |
