Specifically, the art of television and films. Many | | productions in hip-hop have sampled dialogue from movies or TV | | shows for various objectives, ranging from the comedic to the | | serious. Theres even been hip-hop albums either about or inspired | | by media entertainment. For example: Danger Mouse and MF Doom came | | together as Danger Doom in 2005 to create The Mouse & The Mask, | | a hip-hop concept album on the subject of the Cartoon Networks | | Adult Swim programs. The most recent rapper and producer to | | combine heads in a similar vein are Conway the Machine and The | | Alchemist. Given Alchemists beat clientele and Conways customary | | street raps, naming their EP LULU was an obvious nod to the 2002 | | film Paid In Full. Well, obvious to fans of hood classics, | | anyway. There are many references to the film scattered throughout | | the 7-track EP, including the song titles. | | | __|_ __|_ \ |/____________________________________________________________________\ |/ \/___________| |__________\/_ /___________|| A U D i O F i L E - flac what ya heard! ||__________\_ --\--------||_________________________________________________||-------/--- ----------||___________________________________________________||---------- 2 0 2 0 ||_____________________________________________________||[zNr/dS!] =========|_______________________________________________________|=========
