     Before he became a pop/rock heavyweight during the late 80's (and an adult
     contemporary balladeer throughout the following two decades), Richard Marx
     sang on commercials and performed as a backing vocalist for Lionel Richie,
     Whitney Houston, and Julio Igelsias. The Chicago native also delved into
     professional songwriting, penning tunes for Kenny Rogers and the St. Elmo's
     Fire soundtrack before landing a solo contract with EMI Records.
     "Hazard", a single off Marx' third LP "Rush Street", became one of his most
     popular songs, peaking at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. In
     addition, the song spend one week at the top of the Billboard Adult
     Conetemporary chart. Internationally, it topped the charts in Australia and
     peaked at number three in the UK. On this maxi-single, "Hazard" appears
     with previously unreleased song "Thunder And Lightning", plus "Ride With
     The Idol" which was a Japan bonus track only.
